TETTEH CHAI ASSURES RAILWAY WORKERS
WHO THREATEN TO GO ON STRIKE
Hon Theophilus Tetteh Chai MP of Ablekuma Central has assured the railway workers who threaten to withdraw their service on the 18th December 2015, if the Government doesn’t pay them.
According to
Hon Tetteh Chai the Transport Ministry is willing to settle these government
workers who have being working from the month of MAY till now without salaries. He said that proper arrangements are
being made to address the Railway
Workers Union in time before the 18th of December.
In an
interview with Hon Theophilus Tetteh Chai, a member of the Parliamentary
Select Committee on Transport he disclosed to us that the committee is holding
its budget meeting for its transport sectors and that they will finalize their
decisions on Friday in hopes to join hands with the Transport Ministry to sort
the railway workers out.
SOOBOLO went back to speak to the Railway Worker Union’s National General
Secretary Mr. Godwin Ntaamah about the assurance given to them by Hon. Tetteh Chai. In response, Mr. Godwin
explained that the Union is willing to meet with the Transport Ministry but
won’t be able to wait another day for their salaries should the government ask
them to.
