HARMATTAN AIR IS THE CAUSE OF RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS

A medical Doctor at St Joseph Hospital at Kasoa in the Central region Joseph Somuah harmattan air is the cause of many breathing issues, among others that have become rampant in Hospital and various homes all because we seek to take seasonal precautions for granted. 

Adom news in an interview with Dr. Somoah this morning, disclosed that the harmattan’s dusty air is blown from deserts right toward us and thus full of virus, so inhaling the dust into our immune system causes us more harm than we perceive. He explained that cold, cough’s, throat infections, measles, asthma, headaches, eye and ear infections are some of the most rampant issues attended to in hospitals this harmattan season which is caused by viruses living in the dusty atmosphere.

ST. Jones Hospital Dr. Joseph Somoah spoke extensively on the respiratory implications cases by breathing the dusty harmattan air especially on asthmatic patients as he cautions the general public.
 
Dr. Somoah said that people whose urine color appear yellowish are affecting their kidneys and he advised the public to enjoy more fruits and water daily to rejuvenate and flush out our immune system off various impurities. He said that pegnant women should protect themselves from inhaling too much dust in open areas.
Lactating mothers shoud try stayin indoors to prevent their babies from catching cold.

Dr. Somoah also cautioned road contractors to spray the grounds with water daily before starting their constructions in this season to help reduce contracting respiratory diseases for themselves and others around. He also advised those who sweep the grounds to do same.
