SEX TAKES OVER ODUMPRALA TOWN

Recent centenary reports indicate that Sex amongst children in Ghana is in the excess despite all effort to curb this menace and Odumprala, suburb of Adjen Kotoku in the Greater Accra Region is no exception.

 Soobolo has been speaking with some of the children at Odumprala who disclosed that, their parents cannot take care of them and the only way out is to sleep with men in order to survive.

According to one of the children, she realized depending on her parents wouldn’t yield any fruit so she has a boyfriend who takes care of her. Another girl also disclosed that she followed her friends and as a result got pregnant but the man responsible for her pregnancy gives her 5 cedis once a while for herself and the child they have together.

Meanwhile, another girl also said they engage in farming to support their themselves but going after boys helps them a lot.

 DOC what should be done in such instances when teenagers claim their parent aren't enough in terms of finances

 Psychologist at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana Dr Emmanuel Asampong, he opined that such acts occur when there is lack of parental care and the society in which they find themselves. He admonished all and sundry should be resilient and do something beneficial and if the unexpected occurs, they should go back and make life meaningful for themselves.
