Online passport application to be ready this year
The Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration is to advance an online
passport application in 2016 to improve the processes in acquiring
passports in the country.
Information available on the desk of Kasapafmonline.com indicates that the Ministry will also seek to upgrade the existing biometric passports to a chip-embedded ones.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms. Hanna Serwaah Tetteh in a speech at an end of year get-together said this forms part of plans of an overhaul of its services to make it relevant and accessible to the general public.
She also revealed that a memo would be submitted to Cabinet in the first half of 2016 for the establishment of the Ghana Foreign Service.
She insisted that the creation of the new Ghana Foreign Service would be a step in the right direction.
