Abu Sakara’s defection: There were no problems – Samia

A flagbearer hopeful of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Samia Nkrumah, has said the defection of the 2012 flagbearer of the party comes as a surprise, saying “there were no problems we could ascribe to his actions”.
The party’s 2012 flagbearer Dr. Abu Sakara has parted ways with the CPP and  will go independent in the 2016 polls.
A similar turn of event happened in 2012 where Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom also left the party to form his own, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).
But the daughter of Ghana’s first leader in an interview with Kafui Dey and Baisiwa Dowuna Hammond on the Gh Today morning show on Gh One TV Tuesday said these are all machinations to cause fear and frustrate the CPP’s focus in the political terrain.
According to her, “Sooner or later, a catalyst will come and things will overturn.
“I am very courageous because I am armed with a vision. And we as a party are committed to reviving the seven-year development plan that was shelved for so many years.
“People said Kwame Nkrumah’s ideas were far ahead of his time, well, now it’s about that time we pull them through 50 years on”.
