Gitmo Saga: Mahama has compromised on national security – Sylvester

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency, Slyvester Tetteh, says the decision by President John Mahama to accept the two Yemeni cleared terrorists means he has compromised on the country’s national security for money.
In his view, the action by the President is a clear indication that he is always thinking about the next election.
He said based on the action of the number one gentleman of the land, he will not be surprised if the country is mortgaged to anti-christ.
On Wednesday, January 6, 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration announced that Ghana has accepted a plea from the International Criminal Tribunal to provide shelter for two cleared terrorist suspects of Yemeni origin who were detained in Guantanamo Bay prison by US authorities.
The two are Khalid Mohammed Salih al-Dhuby and Mahmmoud Omar Mohammed Bin Atef.
According to Foreign Affairs Ministry, the two Gitmo detainees were unable to “return to Yemen at the moment and we have indicated our readiness to accept them for a period of two years after which they may leave the country”.
That aside, the Ministry said it had also agreed to provide humanitarian assistance and refuge to some persons from Rwanda, Yemen and Syria.
Following the announcement, a cross section of the Ghanaian populace has criticized the government for putting the country in danger.
Reacting to the decision by the government, Mr. Tetteh said he is least surprised about the action of the President, alleging that the offer on table was too big to ignore.
He said the President has no value for human, believing that was the reason why he (President Mahama) accepted to shelter the two Yemeni cleared terrorists.
In his view, he has now come to terms with the fact that President Mahama will do anything for money.
“If President Mahama can collect gay money to run his campaign, then he will soon mortgage Ghana to anti-Christ to win the 2016 elections” he said in an interview with Kasapafmonline.com.
To him, the Gitmo experience is enough for Ghanaians to say no President Mahama and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the November 7, 2016 polls.
